DB Shapriya & Co is a leading Engineering and Construction
services provider based in Tanzania, delivering strategic,
landmark projects since its founding in 1965. The company
executes engineering and construction projects ranging from standard contracts to multidisciplinary Engineering
Procurement and Construction (EPC) projects for blue chip multi-national corporations, diplomatic missions and
government bodies as well as Design Build + Finance Projects (EPC + F) with International Partners in the field ranging from infrastructure and industrial to the oil and gas sector.
The company remains one of the few organisations in Tanzania registered under the Contractor’s Registration Board (CRB) under Class 1 for all four nationally recognised construction categories in Building, Civil Infrastructure, Mechanical works and Electrical works.
The company’s capabilities are further reinforced by delivery of projects with a strong track record of HSE and QAQC performance across the board.

Among the company’s strengths is delivering design and build solutions, fast tracking project execution by combining engineering and construction expertise to develop conceptual designs, perform detailed engineering, conduct procurement, and execute construction through to
commissioning and handover. The company’s execution team project manages efforts across multiple in-house engineering disciplines and merges them to deliver an integrated construction
solution.
The company creates solutions by applying decades of experience to deliver a value engineered proposal to customers. Solutions are created using resources from overseas as well as within Tanzania with an aim to maximise application of local content offering services that are sustainable while supporting the national economy.
Also among the company’s key strengths is strategically planning logistics, mobilising resources and appointing manpower to execute construction activities in remote and environmentally sensitive localities without existing facilities or infrastructure.

Delivering quality services and ensuring quality is maintained throughout is another key principle of the company’s operations. A corporate QAQC Policy drives the quality management process across the organisation.
Quality Assurance and Quality Control form a core part of the works execution strategy across all projects. QAQC is managed and coordinated by implementing organised testing and monitoring
systems, appointing qualified people and allocating testing instruments and equipment across projects in dedicated testing laboratories both on and off site.

Company Health, Safety and Environmental management protocols and systems are implemented across projects and sites throughout company operations and form a core part of project execution functions.
The company has previously been awarded the national OSHA Award for Health & Safety in Construction for three years running 2013, 2014 and 2015. Several completed projects have achieved in excess of 1 million manhours without LTIs further demonstrating the company’s commitment to Health, Safety and preservation of the Environment.
